Product Overview
The CL-S15 is the stainless steel (SS304) variant of Dengtai”s standard caged ladder. It is designed for environments where corrosion resistance matters — and where the ladder is visible enough that appearance matters too.
SS304 (EN 1.4301) is the most widely used stainless steel grade globally. It contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel, forming a self-healing passive chromium oxide layer that resists corrosion in urban, food-processing, and mild chemical environments.
What Makes This Model Different
- SS304 throughout: Side rails, rungs, cage hoops, brackets, and all fasteners — every component is SS304. No mixed metals, no galvanic corrosion risk.
- 240# brushed finish: A directional satin grain that reads as intentional design rather than industrial utility. Appropriate for visible installations on commercial buildings.
- Anti-fingerprint passivation: Post-brushing chemical treatment that resists fingerprint marks — important for ladders in public-facing or client-visible locations.
- No coating to chip or peel: Unlike galvanized or painted finishes, the corrosion resistance of SS304 is inherent to the metal — it cannot be scratched off.
When to Choose This Model
Choose the CL-S15 when: the ladder is visible on a commercial building facade and appearance matters; the installation is in a food processing, pharmaceutical, or beverage facility where SS304 is the standard material specification; the environment is urban outdoor with moderate pollution; or you need corrosion resistance beyond HDG but do not require the full marine-grade protection of SS316.
Cost-Benefit Analysis
The CL-S15 at $61.50/m costs approximately twice the CL-S10 ($30/m). For a 5-metre ladder, the premium is roughly $157. In return, you get: zero coating maintenance for 20+ years, no rust staining on building facades, and a finish that improves rather than degrades over time. For visible installations, the premium pays for itself in avoided reputation cost.
Limitations
SS304 is not suitable for: installations within 5km of the sea (chloride pitting will occur within 12-24 months — upgrade to CL-SS316-STD); environments with concentrated acids or alkalis; or applications requiring the high-temperature strength of SS316.
